2 1/2 years ago, I was afraid to get out of bed.
I know…that sounds silly and rather ridiculous.
But I was literally scared because stepping out of that warm bed meant facing my problems.
It was tough to step out of the shower and look at myself in the mirror knowing that I was 36 years old, divorced and I was now all on my own with a 2-year old. I would wake up feeling like a failure in so many ways.
Every morning, I faced the decision to be courageous OR allow fear/avoidence/depression take the wheel.
Because sometimes life takes freakin’ courage you guys:
– It takes courage to step out of bed when you feel the weight of the world baring down.
– It takes courage to face your problems head-on instead of pouring a drink and pulling up Netflix.
– It takes courage to workout when ALLLL you want to do is lay on the couch and zone out.
My point –> Courage is inside ALL of us…it’s not a personality trait. And although it’s hard to see sometimes, it’s there within YOU!
Courage is simply a push. And when you push yourself day after day in small ways, you may not see it right away but you are CHANGING yourself!
So if you are going through a challenging time right now, know it will be okay. You are so much stronger than you know. It is a season in your life. And the more you show up + exercise courage, the closer you get to a new season!
Be hungry + stay humble,
