Above is a photo of my table area recently when I took Cooper to an indoor play gym. I sat there with my hummus + carrots and all of the parents around me were downing fast food and sugary sodas + chips. I had a mom come over to me after a while and ask me “Do you always eat like that?”
I thought it was an odd question because let’s be serious…if I had asked HER that same question regarding her McDonald’s lunch/snack, it would be considered an insult. But I just said, “I do my best to eat healthy…but I’m not perfect.” Her only response was “Gosh, I could never do that.”
I thought that was kind of sad.
I didn’t say anything at the time, but a HUGE part of me wishes that I had told her “Yes…you could. You actually hold all of the power of your decisions. You’re stronger than you think!”
But I didn’t. I just hope that by me just doing what I normally do, she could see that it was possible. And that is what so many of YOU are doing in your day-to-day lives. You are showing so many other people that it’s possible for them too. They may even be strangers who glance at your grocery shopping cart in the market or your co-workers who see you pass over that bin of cookies in the break room.
You never know who you are inspiring…:)
