Shameless bathroom selfie kicked off my Caribbean vacay!
For the 2nd year in a row, Beachbody sent myself and a guest (along with a handful of my team!!) on an all-expense paid vacation. And honestly, the timing was perfect as this single momma really needed a getaway…
I posted on my Facebook earlier in the week how Cooper fell asleep eating a cookie and I was SOOOO tempted to indulge, but I exercised my self control and held off (I had committed myself to the 21-Day Fix Extreme and really wanted to do it with fidelity!)
But you had BETTER BELIEVE I saved that little wedge of a cookie and brought it to indulge on the airplane ride!!!
I know, I know…such a dork. 😉
Beachbody charted The Oasis of the Seas, which apparently is the 2nd largest cruise ship in the world. I have no idea how this behemoth can even float. I mean, I can’t even tell you how many times I went to the wrong end of the ship to find my room…only to decide I need a snack in order to make the walk back.
Once onboard, I hauled my overly giddy bootie over to the Elite Check-in to pick up my 1st ever swag bag (I didn’t get these things working in the Public School System so I was probably a little more enthusiastic then most of the other Elite coaches! LOL!)
Aaaannddd then I got very thirsty + hungry. So yeah…I’m that coach who was double fisting pizza + beer on a Beachbody cruise. I know…so classy 😉
Throughout the cruise, the women on my team and I could consistently be found poolside laughing like we were old friends (this is only the 2nd time many of us have been together yet we seriously are bonded for life on this team).
– Kristi is a CFO of a large company and has lost 75+ lbs since joining my challenge group last year.
– That chick on my right is a busy hard-working professional + mom of two crazy kids.
– This petite powerhouse to my far left found out she was pregnant LESS THAN A WEEK after joining my team. NOW she has her beautiful 6-month old (as well as her 3-year old) with her on this reward vacation!
ALL 3 OF THEM have full plates and yet are within the top 0.01% of this company (in addition to many other coaches on Team PIVOT). I’m just so proud of them!
So we were definitely celebrating!! I mean, look how classy we look??!
And classy teams play Cards Against Humanity. Right?! 😉
And totally get amped up for a 70’s party! Right? 😉
We had two stops on the cruise –> the first was the Bahamas! We spent the day at Atlantis. It didn’t suck.
The second –> Jamaica.
(and I promise to never wear this tank in public again! LOL!)
But outside all of the crazy fun times, it’s in my nature to get a bit reflective. Especially when I’m near the ocean. I’m not sure why, but I always get emotional + all “deep thought-y” when looking at the ocean.
It just hit me on more than one occasion on this trip that I am in such an INCREDIBLY DIFFERENT space in my life today than I was even just one year ago. And for the first time in a VERY long time, I am happy. I have hope. And quite honestly…I feel like “me” again.
When I look out at this amazing sight that God has created…this endless view of water…I feel small + insignificant + totally at one with Him. It’s a feeling I want to bottle up and drink each day…
Well God must have wanted to give me a sign that he hears my prayers of gratitude, because on the last time during our team wide Hibachi dinner celebration, my man crush (aka Tony Horton) walks in to watch the sunset!! LOL!
And THEN to make things even crazier, he comes over to us to greet + talk with one of our coach’s children at our table (and the fact that HER 1st program with me was P90x kinda makes this a full-circle moment!)
I think EVERY MOM needs a vacation now and then…but our hearts ACHE for our little ones!!
I’ve missed my little monkey so much. As I type this we are knee deep in our traditional shenanigans + causing mischief as only a 3-year old and his momma can do 😉
